Zeb and I were driving him to work yesterday, and we were listening to Katherine's CD, and we were thoroughly delighted by "The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota" _

I am fascinated by might have beens. How would the Harry Potter books have been different if they had started with Sirius meeitng a servant of Voldemort in front of the Potter's house? _

I have been distracted from the Angels and Demons universe that I'd immersed myself in, and now I'm back in Harry Potter lala land, and will probably annoy my stepdad quite a lot by rereading Harry Potter when I know he wants to read the Dan Brown book, but I'm halfway through. _

I have spent too much time in the past few days discovering things on the Lemony Snicket movie website and on JK Rowling's. (Although the stuff on JK Rowling's gets really cool.) _

Also, I finally called Bryn Mawr's continuing education program to figure out how to study classics there, and she was very helpful, and so now I just have to figure out which classes I'm interested in, and she'll help me figure out getting into them, and it will all be great. _

I adored the Harry Potter movie. I am too tired to think of anything coherant (or even to type anywhere near my normal speeds -- lost in DC took a lot out of me). I loved the bit where they were eating the candies that were making them like animals. I thought Lupin acted well, but looked all wrong, and so I was all disappointed in him, just for the long look. But. All in all. Very enjoyable. Best of the movies so far. _

Martin, I'll be home late tonight, and I'm going to downtown Baltimore for my cousin's party tomorrow from between 12-3. I can pick you up, or if you wanted to get a ride/public transportation/whatever to like the Science Museum or Aquarium or something, I could get you, and then go over to Cassie's. _

The first agency I talked to had this thing about trying to get me to make phone calls, which I didn't particularly like, but they will give me health insurance. The second company was all excited when I said that I knew some stuff about desktop publishing, that I'd done work in it, and had me take a test in proficiency in Quark, and considreing that I haven't used Quark regularly since everyone thought it was totally ridiculous that I was writing all my papers in Quark instead of Word sometime around sophom0re year, that I'm used to Quark 5.0 for Mac, and this was Quark 4.0 for Windows, I think my 80% proficiency was quite good indeed. And apparently my data entry rate was way above average. And so. I hope they call me, first. _

There was a bird in our tree yesterday. It was very large and cool looking, and we spent a long time staring at it. We couldn't figure out what it was, but it loked an awful lot like a penguin, so we started calling it the Pennsylvania Tree Penguin. Eventually, Sue declared it a night heron, which is interesting, and it was certainly pretty. not as interesting as a Pennsylvania Tree Penguin, no doubt, but certainly more real. _

Minutes after I blogged about being worried about Katherine, she showed up. I had been mostlly worried that she had somehow wound up in the middle of nowhere, which is rather easy to do when trying to get here. _

Last night, I found my bunny. He was sitting under our neighbour's tree. He has been running free ever since sometime last fall, and we miss him. But, as we stood there watching him last night, we decided not to go catch him, because, really, if you were a bunny, wouldn't you rather not live in a cage, and run free around the neighbourhood?

He looked like a picture, under the tree. He was all white, and the hill and the tree were all green, and it was getting dark. It looked like something out of a movie, or something. _

We went to the garden supply store. I convinced my mom to buy a lavender plant and a small fuschia bush (with these little white things they said could be planted around it well), and I'm very excited about my plants. I also spread watermelon seeds around a compost pile, and some sunflower seeds just around (all in one area, cause sunflowers are huge). I'm excited. I like planting things from seeds, cause it's fun to watch them come up. Sure, planting from pots gives you the whole instant gratification thing, but it's a lot of fun to watch your stuff come up, cause it's really yours. There were more plants I wanted, but she wouldn't buy them for me. _

Went over to Sue's and played Spades with Aaron, Austin and Sue. It took us several games to get back in our Spades-playing groove, which involved Aaron threatening to leap across the table and strangle me when we got to the last hand. (It's really delightfully fun to throw things like a bid of nullo in at the last hand when you're 21 points away from 500, and if you just bid 1, you'll probably be fine. Even I, who was the Nullo Queen in high school rarely do that, except when I have a hand of absolute crap.) We have decided to make it a regular thing, hopefully every week. _

The computers at TCS have an icon on the desktop to that looks like an icon for internet explorer. The icon in the corner of the window is an internet explorer icon. But when it describes the site, it says Mozilla Foxfire at the end. I asked K-- who runs the computers there what that was about, and he explained his big secret which is that he disguised Mozilla to look like IE so everyone would use a superior browser. I thought it was delightfully fun. And I love tabs. _
