So, on Sunday I ordered books from Amazon, and told them to ship it the free way, and today they showed up! I'm so excited! _

My room is lovely. I have rearranged it slightly, since the way it was when my mom was done in there; I have moved a lamp to the table she has put by my bed (a table by my bed! I haven't had such a thing possibly ever! a desk certainly doesn't count), and put my alarm clock there as well. I have moved Astyanax onto my now clean desk, where he is swimming around his tank happily going through the arches in his quasi-Greco-Roman-esque tank decoration. The marbles in his tank are shades of green and blue, and it matches my room far better than Ozymandias's red marbles and Horus statue, so Ozymandias remains in the living room. (Actually, it was sort of like musical chairs: Ozymandias had been on the kitchen counter, and Astyanax in the living room, and so Ozymandias is now where Astyanax had been.) I have a wardrobe, which is almost the same size as a Chase closet, so I think I should be okay for clothes storage space. I am happy happy, and am considering switching my bedtime reading from Spindle's End to Brief Lives because I need my Del. _

I really liked the Dream story. I liked the differences in the relationships, I liked seeing Death so long ago. It seemed almost natural that a much younger Death would be depressed about the way people look at her, and suddenly her perkiness takes on an entirely different quality. And Delight seemed much more like Delirium than I'd actually been expecting. _

Today, I found out that you can see pages of Endless Nights on Neil Gaiman's page, got impatient for my paycheck, remembered that there is in fact money in my checking account, and ordered it, and Wolves in the Walls from Amazon, cause it's much cheaper to do it that way than to buy either/both at stores. And then, later, still impatient with waiting, I wandered off to Barnes and Noble and sat down and read Dream's, Delirium's and Destruction's stories. _

My mom and I were cleaning my room yesterday, then I had to go to work, and it was still a wreck. When I got home, my room was all neat and tidy, and the bed was made, and all sorts of great stuff. There's stuff in boxes in the hall and the bathroom that I need to take care of, and all my dirty clothes are in the bathroom, but my room is suddenly a room again, which it hasn't been for a while. _

Last night, there had been confusion as to whether or not I was supposed to work. It turned out I was, but I'd thought I wasn't, so I stayed home, then they called me. Now, remember first of all, that I hate my job. Remember secondly that after four years at St. John's, the thought of a free Thursday night, the thought of watching the season premiere of Friends on the actually TV on the actual date it was aired, was all novel and wonderful. But instead I had to work. I spent most of the evening pissed off. Towards the end of the evening, one of the waitresses went around giving out pieces of this really great cheesecake to other workers (it had been a birthday cake she'd bought for her sister the day before, and then left at the restaurant completely forgotten because she was drunk) and it occurred to me that with the money I was making I could by Endless Nights and Wolves in the Walls from Amazon (not from the actual bookstore, where they would cost a fortune). And those thoughts made me feel better, and KaZaA's downloads are always better quality than the stuff on TV. Now, of course, I can't actually find the season premiere of Friends, and I'm starting to wonder if it was all a figment of my imagination. _

I fell in love with these hair products which I bought while I was in England. And I can't seem to find them here, and the only place I found them online doesn't ship out of the UK. _

As Eric Idle is now 30 years older than he was in his Monty Python days, and that was always who I'd envisioned as Crowley, Terry Gilliam should sign Johnny Depp on as the role, then he would get the funding, and we could see the movie. _

I have a Neil Gaiman craving, which is only slightly deterred by my King Arthur craving. He should write something about King Arthur, besides that story about the old woman who found the Grail in an antique store, and then I would be incredibly happy. Especially if Dream made it in as well. In the meantime, I am waiting for the comic book store to let me know when they have Endless Nights because they said they'd call me. _

So, we lost power on Thursday night/Friday morning (I think it was 5AM, or so I'm told), and we didn't get it back til last night. I kind of like blackouts, I've always thought it was fun to run around with candles. We, though, are on a well, so we didn't have running water either. _

The circles in Annapolis threw me, because they go the other way from the round abouts all over England. Not that I drove in England, but I look the wrong way when I cross the street. _

I don't think I can keep my job long. I need to get out of it. When I am there, I feel like I am whithering away, that I shall go mad, or die, or something. _

Thoughts on the DVD of Neverwhere I just got from Netflix: first off, it's Doctor Who-esque, at least in appearance. Door, I had pictured, was smaller, more pixie-like, rather like that sophomore girl who looks like a punk-pixie. Jessica in my head looks like Nicole Kidman. And the Marquis de Carabas I had pictured at Hiramaic. _

I am, actually, a responsible person. If there is something I need to do (cleaning the house doesn't count) I do it. Like, if I have a car in Annapolis, and Marija has no car, I will in fact leave Annapolis and brave the possibility of rush hour traffic in Balitmore (there was none, by the time I got there, but the "Hon" sign was also down, and that made me sad) so that she can be on time for her quiz. _

What was your favorite thing about England?

Probably Oxford. But Oxford closes early. So...um...tea at the Pump Room was lovely, and Charlotte's hostel rocked.

How many Discworld novels have you read? What is your favorite?

I think I've now read all of them, but many of the ones I bought early in my reading of Discworld novels have disappeared. I have a softspot for Susan and her grandfather, as Mort and Soul Music were the first ones I read, but now I think my favourite is probably Jingo, cause Carrot is awesome. Rincewind bores me for the most part, and I could easily do without him.

How many needles do they really use in acupuncture?

Really far to many. I mean, really, how is sticking pins in someone supposed to do anything but make them bleed and hurt?(Unless they are a witch.) I've heard of a form of accupuncture where they only use the ear because the ear looks somewhat like a fetus, so they figure it's all connected to the ear. _

Today I made very dark red candles that smell like roses. Well, smell vaguely like roses. Most of them are shaped like hearts and float, but two of them are votives. _
