Taken through my spotting scope, more or less. The thing which looks like it might be a bird is in fact a chickadee. Yet to get a good picture through the scope.

We were making spinach, and the disposal choked on a combination of stems and scotch-brite. We dredged the chamber, but it still sat there. Using my education and some plastic tubing for that fountain we never built, I syphoned out the water from the sink into a bucket. Then, consulting the internet, we poured boiling water and large amounts of salt down the drain to cook the spinach, let it sit for a few minutes. Shockingly, it worked.

Near the end of it's life last summer, our pot marigold got a bit strange: some of the flowers, instead of having little green leafy things that peel back as the bud opens, it had shoots, which grew into more flowers. Poor confused inbred plants.

I've always liked images to be out of focus. Do other people feel blurry things have more of a sense of depth and reality? I'm curious whether it is something about eliminating distracting detail, or that since I'm half blind, blurry is the natural appearence of things.

Why high contrast color is less popular than high contrast black and white... Piles of snow at the end of a street.
