"The Republicans and Democrats spent so much time saying they're against baby-eating, they never really said what they're for!"

Oh. Oh my. The simplest thing that could possibly work is: adding an entry to a category means adding a reference to that entry to the category page.

I just don't trust filesystem metadata. I think it's a great idea. I think we need more of it. But I don't trust it. Not for one moment.

The title theme from Bill Nye, the Science Guy says that inertia is a property of matter, but I think that assertion is philosophically flawed.

The BBC is remaking Douglas Adams's classic unfinished Dr. Who episode "Shada" as an audio webcast, with Paul McGann as the Doctor. I'm a bit skeptical of how well it could work without Tom Baker and Lalla Ward, but still, it's a brilliant episode, and very funny, so it should be worth listening to.
The original version never finished production because of a strike at the BBC. However, it is available on video in England, with Tom Baker narrating the action for the missing scenes. Sometimes it can also be found on the net--this is where I got my copy. A bit of Googling reveals that the script is also available online, along with a brief production history.

The Green candidate for the State Assembly in my district, Doug Thron, is currently doing 10% better than the Democratic candidate in polls. However, the Republican candidate is still leading. You know what that means?
That's right: the Democrats are acting as spoilers. If I end up being represented by a Republican, it'll be All Their Fault.

The last entry being in relation to this realization: there is no reason for blog entries in Wobble to be stored as structured data. A blog entry is (1) a string of text at (2) a given date and time.
Both of these elements are important. A blog entry is a string of text, rather than any more complex group of variables. This makes it magnificently simple to store, which is important for both simplicity and performance. It also doesn't particularly limit what can be done with an entry: more complex structured effects can be replaced with filters applied to the text. This is also a much more universal approach--it should have the incidental effect of making it easier to borrow plugin code from blosxom or MT.
A blog entry occurs on a given date and time. This means it should be easily accessible based on when it was posted--it should be written in such a way that a calendar is easy to do. It also means (and it took me a while to realize this) that I'd been thinking about the structure of a blog wrong. Despite all appearances, a blog is not an ordered list of entries. Rather, a blog is a collection of entries that can be placed in temporal order. This is a subtle distinction, but storage-wise it essentially means that entries aren't going to be numbered sequentially.
I believe PyBlosxom supports filters. This might make it a reasonable base on which to build a Wobbly system. However, it might not. A brief look at it will probably tell me.
This is my third sailing. Wobble is seriously heading out into Golden Vaporware land. The thing that leaves me a bit hopeful is that each rewrite has been simpler than the last. Taking parts away is progress.
