I gave this to my grandmother for Christmas, and it was a hit. I think she is using it as a tablecloth, which makes me kind of sad, but at least she isn't keeping it hidden in a closet because it is too precious to use. I had spent serious amounts of time debating dying it blue, but I am glad that I kept it white. It is silk, and while you can't see it in the picture, the silk gives it a glorious shimmer. _
I started these socks as something to do with my hands while watching Princess Tutu with my roommates. I needed something I didn't have to look at while knitting. They are fun and fast and the colors are lovely. _
The ridiculously small hat. I made this in November, because I needed something that would go far faster than the lace I'd been working on.
I'm not sure what happened, but it only wound up fitting one person, who was certainly not me with my freakishly large head. I gave it to Zeb's girlfriend, who had no hat, and it fit her. It was lovely, and flew off my needles while I was moral support for Tracy while she was on the phone with tech support for Netgear and Comcast. _
I haven't blogged about my knitting in ages. I started these the day after Christmas on the train going home. I cast off on the first one like the next day. The second one is going a little more slowly because I snapped one of the needles I used for the rib, so it was snoozing. I finally replaced it, and am flying through them again. But only one is finished, and I can only take pictures with one hand at a time. _
I bought this orchid last year, because Brianne didn't hate it, and she doesn't hate it because it looks kind of like a daffodil. It is reblooming and I am ecstatic. (Also, we had waffles for breakfast, which is why there is a thing of whipped cream behind the orchid.) _
When A Knight's Tale was coming out, I saw heath Ledger on Jon Stewart. He talked about how he and his friends used to joust while riding sheep. And that is what I thought of when I read _

I cancelled my mspace account a couple weeks/months ago, and I still got the Myspace newsletter. It says at the bottom of the email how to stop the newsletters, but you have to log in to do so, which you can't do with a cancelled acount (duh). So I wrote to them, and they wrote back "this is how to cancel your myspace account." And I wrote back "thanks, did that that MAKE THE NEWSLETTERS STOP". And they wrote back "this is how to cancel your myspace account. If this didn't answer your question, please reply." I don't really know how to reply anymore.

My iPod completely froze the other day while in the middle of a song. I had the scroll wheel locked, and it doesn't pay attention to me when I try unlocking it, so I can't force a hard reset either. I tried plugging it into my computer, because that has worked in the past when this happened, but my computer doesn't even recognize that it's there. I am sad. I have been sitting around trying to make an appointment for Thursday evening at the Apple Store, but Thursday evening is not yet an option.

I killed time last night after my pottery class while waiting for the bus by going to Trader Joe's. This is not at all an uncommon experience, I tend to have to wait about an hour for the bus after my pottery class. But I gone grocery shopping the day before, and was mostly at Trader Joe's because it was warm, and it was freezing outside. (I had tried to call Tracy to ask her to pick me up, but her phone was upstairs while she was downstairs.) I succeeded in killing not nearly enough time, and then the lines were practically empty (why are the lines always long when I don't want them to be but short when I actually want to just spend ridiculous amounts of time at the store?). So I wandered over to Blockbuster and looked at their previously viewed movies. They all were pretty terrible, in fact, or else more money than I felt like spending, but I bought Marie Antoinette for $4. And then I stood outside at the busstop and shivered and stamped my feet and cursed the Sunday buses for only running once an hour and for Pendelton St. to be too residential for taxis.

Trader Joe's frozen chocolate croissants are almost as good as the ones from Baking With Julia but they have the distinct advantage of way less work.
