One of the best bitsx about watching British comedies is the random Dr. Who references thrown in, without an eye being battered.

Neil Gaiman is awesome. My copy of Good Omens is now probably cooler than your copy of Good Omens Also, he stayed an extra hour and a half signing books. And apparently kept sending the aids through the line to make sure that all pregnant women or people with small children were brought to the front.

Did I make up Fiji Apples, or have I actually seen such things? The only person I talked to last night that thought there might be was Taylor.

My replacement KitchenAid came yseterday. I am happy. It works, and doesn't squeal while I use it, or at least not for the first moment it was on. It is still red, like my old one. I think all kitchen appliances should be red, black, or steel.
Also, I got a package from Julia, which delighted me. Thank you for the tea, Julia! And thanks, Katherine, for the bracelet.

I typed a reply to the thing about bedbugs on Martin's blog, hit tab and enter, and lost it all, because it decided tab did something else. Now I am too annoyed to try to retype it. Suffice it to say, the article was not a joke, was not particulalry informative, and I was tired then, and I'm getting tired now, so I remember little about it.

One of the many things that is wonderful about KitchenAid is that in the rare event of one of their products breaking, they are remarkable. I called this morning, because last night our mixer made horible squeaking noises and overheated while Mandi and I made bread, and after determing that I wans't doing anything stupid, they told me they'll send me a replacement mixer, and I put the old one in the same box, and send it back.

We drove around and around in circles trying to find Trader Joe's tonight. We got home quickly, but it took like an hour to get there. By the time we got there, we were all totally hungry, and did the stupid grocery shopping while hungry thing. But I think we mostly managed to not splurge on stupid stuff.

I think Netflix is mad at me. Two movies took far too long to get to Lewisberry, so I reported them, and they sent me new ones. Then I dropped all three movies that I had here on Sunday, and as they still haven't gotten them back, I reported that too. And so, now they're taking their time sending me new stuff.

I forgot you couldn't add paragraphs without using the tag. Huh. Well, there were originally paragraph breaks in that entry.
When we go out, we are going to leave Sam in Brianne's room, because it's the only relatively cool room in the house, and we're going to close all the windows.

On Sunday, we turned our AC off, because my roommates are silly. Last night, it was so hot, I couldn't sleep, so I tried to turn it back on. I spent an hour and a half, waiting for it to turn on, as I sweated, and Sam panted, and I'd occasionally go out into the hall to try flipping switches in the other direction, or to drop the temperature from the 76 I was trying to set it to to 50, to see if I could shock it into starting. Eventually, I fell asleep, which was hard, because I have trouble sleeping if I'm too hot. When I woke up, Mandi and I tried messing with it. We did everything we could. We flipped the circuit breaker, both the one outside, and the one in the basement. We dusted the theromstat, which is broken and stupid. We sulked. Eventually we gave in and called the landlord, who was going to call someone, but that person hasn't called us yet.
Funny, that that is the first thing I blog about the apartment. It's actually a nice apartment, and I approve so much more of our living room furinture here than I did at my last place, as it's all done in blues and greens and whites, rather than denim and burnt orange. I'm realizing my color scheme, in my bedroom, is changing along with my general decore, it has to do with the red, and my thing about my hatboxes.
I still have no job. Today was going to be updating my resume and doing internet search stuff, but that involved all sorts of crazy things, like, say, bringing the wireless router box that actually had something in, rather than the empty box for the one we'd used in PA. When Brianne goes to class this evening, I'm going to go to Ikea, to buy a rug for my floor, and a colandar, and handful of other, necessary things.
I with they sold pants. I put a hole in my last pair of casual hang-out pants yesterday.

Suddenly, sitting here, on the phone with one of those computer phone interactive menus where apparently they think that voice recognition is better than hitting buttons, I am reminded of an episode of Square One where in the whole Mathnet thing at the end, there was a woman who had been kidnapped, and somehow let people know where she was by doing this primitive text messaging thing, and just hitting the numbers, and someone else was able to figure out which numbers had been hit by the notes.

I fell and put a hole in the knee of the only nice-ish pants I own. (I have expensive linen pants, still, but these were a not dress quality, but dress nicely design.) I am sad. And I put a hole in my second favourite skirt on Wednesday. So, I have my knee-length black skirt, two pairs of pants which are several sizes too large, and a pair of jeans I don't like.

Maybe I'm growing up, but I think I'm starting to prefer Banana Republic to Gap and Old Navy. It's a bit of a shame, because it's far more expensive, but when Jamie and I went in to kill time and try stuff on at random, I fell in love with many things. Granted, not one owas less than $50, and the sweater I wanted was $188, but, oh god, was it nice.
