Apparently, last night's freak out was pretty appropriate.

I have always thought it odd that when looking for life on other planets, we say, well, obviously, there is no x, therefore no life. The planet is not Earth, couldn't life there exist in a way that doesn't involve x? Regardless, they are apparently looking for life on Titan, below the surface, because they think there is liquid water in an ocean there, on the theory that there is a lot of methane, and the amount of UV hitting the moon would burn of the methane rather quickly (10 million years, but...) so they think something is replenishing it. I think that's cool.

I took a picture at my house of the sun as it was approaching sunset (if the sky weren't blue and the sun weren't yellow, it would totally be a sunset) over ice and snow. I set it as the background on my computer. The sun in the pictures seems really bright, like the real sun. This amuses me.

I am stressed. It is the middle of the night, and a cousin who never initiates IM conversations with me, sent me a message that says "you there?" I was brushing my teeth when he sent it, but I sat down right as it showed up. Now he is no longer online. If we didn't have a cousin with cancer, I would be less stressed out about this.

I went home this weekend, and played with puppies, and sulked about car stuff. Apparently, while I was gone, the heater in our building broke. In the middle of Philadelphia getting a foot of snow dumped on it. When I came back, it was fixed, but the apartment was still cold. Now, it's so warm, I'm wearing a tank top.

Today, while working on Cicero, I watched The Parent Trap. Then, later, I made cookies. It felt nice and good to do both.

My walls are now all covered in pictures. The slanted wall that makes my bed signficantly less cool (if it didn't slant quite so much, I could have a canopy bed rather than a four poster bed) has always been covered with pictures from an old Sierra Club calendar. This evening I took a bunch of pictures from Cassie and one from Nate and two of my England pictures and hung them on two of my other walls. The fourth wall has my current calendar and my closet, and is rather full. I feel like I am surrounded by friends with these pictures on the wall. I'm going to get one of those floating frames and put the feather and pressed flower from Katherine in it and hang that somewhere too.

Okay, so, I'm going to post this here, and then wipe my hands of trying to figure this out for Connor. Connor is trying to figure out what this game was that he used to enjoy, so he can play it again (we're talking computer games). It was a role-playing-fantasy-D&D-type; thing, where you played a warrior or a wizard. You had to kill monsters and brigands, and you "got" (his words) dwarves and elves. There was one dwarf named Khaled who was like superdwarf, and no one else could use his axe, cause you were never good enough for it. And there was an elf who was particularly good with a bow. You would go around, killing stuff, looking for gems of power. He has no idea what this game was called. Ha ha. He went through all our disks, and he doesn't remember if I played with them, so...We have elimnated: Lords of Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Castle, Quest for Glory, and Warcraft. he says it's older than Lords of Magic.
If you have any idea what this game might be, let me know.

I took NyQuil last night before going to bed, in my attempt to combat this cold. I don't think I'm going to win the fight, but I'll try anyway. I always get NyQuil gel tabs, cause liquid tastes natsy, but they didn't have any, so I got the liquid, rather than going to CVS on my way home from the grocery store. It's nasty nasty stuff. I tasted about as bad as anything I've ever taken as a shot, but at least it didn't burn.

Times you realize that gmail's ad service might not be all it's cracked up to be in the way of matching to what your email says: you receive an email about protests on inaugation day, and it has a link to free George W Bush campaign buttons.

We have puppies, now, three little Nattie and Benny puppies. They have temporary names of Sam(buca) Amy(which is short for Amaretto) and Remy Martin (and we argue over whether his shortname is Remy or Martin). Right now I think Sam will be my puppy, but this might change in a few weeks.
