My brother has this theory that they never actually left the Matrix. This is based largely on the guy who was taken over by Agent Smith. At first I really didn't like this theory: it struck me as dumb, and it reminded me greatly of that Star Trek with Moriarty getting out, but not really getting out, but then he really did get out, but he wasn't, cause he was still in a box. And then I thought about it some more, and I thought, well, it was all about the cave, but sci-fi-ed up for the late 20th century, so maybe they haven't actually gotten outside the cave, and they've just realized that they're looking at fire and shadows, but they think that's it. So then I started thinking it was a rather nifty idea, except that there haven't really been enough clues for it in the past two movies, so if he's right, it will probably come off incredibly poorly in the third movie. _

I just took my dogs for a walk. They were so excited it was adorable. Nattie jumped up and sat nearly on my lap staring at my shoes while I put them on. Now, I jump in the shower, put on respectable clothes, get my passport picture taken and apply for the thing (find wallet, find old passport) and go to Bob Evans for an interview. Ick. _

My mom really doesn't want me touristing in Greece alone. She really thinks I should spend my entire time in England. It had slowly dawned on me that spending my entire time in England might be best anyway, as I'm supposed to meet up with her halfway through my trip, and I've suddenly had all these thoughts about seeing the Scottish Highlands and Orkney and maybe Shetland as well as seeing nifty stuff in England. _

I seem to have gotten sick again, which sucks. I'm sitting here, feeling generally miserable. And today, the computer spontaneously stopped working. Not this one, this is my mom's lovely Titanium, but the PC is totally down. First the sound went down, then I tried to turn it off, and it hasn't been able to turn off. I'm going to curl up in a ball and go back to reading my Harry Potter again. _

My new project is typing up the recipes in our little green box of recipes. Which is interesting. Faster work than I'd've thought, but there are massive amounts of recipes in our little green box of recipes. They are being thrown in an empty shoebox when I finish with them. Also, decifering my mom's handwriting is an interesting expedition, as well as translating out the little notes she wrote down. _

The books were requested in bite sized chunks to be sent to school (meaning she didn't want a stack of 10 books as she thought that would be intimidating), so I am sending them in sets of two. Currently sitting on the counter are The Iliad and The Republic. I am sending along Plutarch, to read about Lycurgus and Solon, because I think they ought to be read, and I'm using the excuse that they might put some context around the Plato, and I'm not counting it in the 10. _

So, were all those prophecies about the Vampire With a Soul standing with the Slayer at the Apocolypse not about Angel and were about Spike? Cause that's all disappointing. Or were they about a different Apocolypse, and possibly a different Slayer, as now there are many many Slayers all over the world? (And is Spike really supposed to be on Angel next year, because if he is, that will make his sacrifice...totally odd. I was kind of glad to see him go.) I liked Anya, poor Anya. _

So, this afternoon I wandered into the restaurant I worked at last summer. (It's not quite the same restaurant I worked at last summer; the owner of that place sold it and some of the management switched around.) The cooks, however, were all mostly the same guys I worked with last summer, and I was trying to figure out which door they were using as the main entrance, one of them was wandering around in the restaurant and was all excited to see me, and took me back in the kitchen to show me off to everyone who was back there. They were all happy I was considering working there again this summer. It was really sweet. _

I was asked to make a list of ten books that represent the St. John's cirriculum, by a girl who wants to read them. I'm not actually entirely sure what to give her. It was strongly suggested that I don't make her read War and Peace, and Kant and Hegel seem like bad choices, but ten is a very small number, so if anyone has anything they think should absolutely be there, tell me, okay? _

My brother is trying to get his last episode of Family Guy to finish downloading (there's something ridiculous like less than 100kb left) and it keeps stopping. I was sitting here, watching it download, and there were 20 some seconds left, and then it lost the connection. I'm waiting for my Buffys to finish, but that's a totally different story, as there are many many of them. (I have all of the fifth season that I didn't already have downloading right now, and this makes me happy.) We are listening to Jerry Seinfeld standup, because it's amusing, and whatnot. I searched for Robin Williams, because I find Robin Williams far more interesting than Jerry Seinfeld, and then we decided to search for Steve Martin, cause he's funny too. _

My allegra has vanished, and I feel much more allergic than I had been. I ordered more, as it was refill time anyway, but it is still in the pharmacy. I think I might go buy ungodly expensive claritin. _

I miss my computer being online. I miss my bookmarks, I miss my AIM. I miss having a computer that doesn't throw a fit when I try to look at comments on Moira's blog. For crying out loud, I even miss the stupid iMac keyboard, with the return key that's wider (I keep hitting the back-slash key). My sister is all happy with the airport thing and her laptop going online anywhere in the house, but I can't do that with my purple machine. My brother said we could get a really long ethernet cable and plug my computer in; I think tomorrow I'll find out where I'd plug it in and figure out how long a cable I'd be needing. (Although I do like this Buffy on the computer thing.) _

My sister is telling me about the overdue paper she is working on. I hadn't entirely realized how differently Johnnies do papers than other people, she's talking about things like research and historical productions and whatnot, rather than just looking at the primary source. _

A few days ago, we completely drained the hottub, because you have to do that sometimes, and despite the chemicals all reading at "fine" it was green and had slime and was utterly nasty. My mom had no idea how to get the siphoning thing to start working, but I did. When my brother got home, he finished off the job of getting all the little puddles out, and then he cleaned it out, and started filling it up with water. But we used cold water, right, which we realized later was a stupid idea, when it took two days for it to get back up to a nice-ish temperature. _
