I have come to realize that I take equations on faith these days. I sit there in math class and pretend to follow, but I take it completely on faith that Einstein's equations work. I can't begin to follow them, and I have given up trying.

Hamlet tomorrow will go on at 7 in the evening. The announced it at dinner. So I went off to the pottery studio and glazed things, just too late for them to be fired in this firing.

At some point this morning, I stumbled downstairs, because I wanted cold water, and there is none in my refrigerator, and the taps are extraordinarily hot. There were three guys who graduated last year hanging out in the Chasement, being very loud. I sort of appeared, looking like I'd just woken up, and one of them said "oh, we're waking people up. We should be quieter. We're sorry we woke you up." I sort of blinked, and said "no, I didn't hear you until I was on the first floor. I just wanted cold water." They were very nice, even if they were screaming at 9:30 in the morning.

If it's going to insist on raining, couldn't we at least get a nice proper pouring rain with thunder like they were predicting last night?

Brianne got off work on a day's notice. I'm actually extremely proud of her for having the nerve to call the library and ask for the day off. My guess is that they library people sort of thought "oh, wow, she actually can act her age once in a while, that's pretty nifty."

I turned my lights off around 4, and I have been unable to sleep for more than an hour together since. I'm exhausted, and I'm wide awake. It's odd and strange; possibly happening because I don't know whether I need to do things like chocolate dip strawberries this morning, or if I can do it this evening. I'm going to go call Switchboard.

I called my stepdad, panicked about the thought of pate, this afternoon. I don't eat the stuff; I don't like touching it through the plastic at the store even. So I hadn't a clue what to get, and was considering getting it for people for Croquet. (Which is tomorrow. Whether tomorrow is when I wake up in the morning or actually tomorrow, being Sunday, is still up in the air.) I thought it might be an amusing conversation for his coworkers to overhear. It probably sounded something like: "So it's this weekend?...Sunday is supposed to be lovely...Truffle mousse...Where are you shopping?...Oh, they can help you...Sunday is supposed to be lovely....Okay, you're welcome, bye." I mean, when I call with computer issues, then it's not so wierd, as he works with computers. Macs, at that.

Mr. Maistrellis wouldn't let us near Sonia's coffee or Isadora's brownies while the petrie dishes of e coli were on the table. Then he made us all wash our hands.

I put mascara on before going to dinner, cause I like mascara (mascara and lipstick). Then I walked with Remi and Liz down to the docs in the pouring rain, and apparently I forgot to get waterproof mascara, cause it was running everywhere.

Noah, Mandi and I went running all over the place today buying food for Croquet. We did this sort of loop, where the bus dropped us off at the mall, we went to Trader Joe's, then we walked to Giant, then walked to Fresh Fields ('scuse me, Whole Foods) and then we got on a different bus and came back here. This is usually the sort of thing I remember to change shoes for, but I forgot this time. Going into Giant with Trader Joe's bags made us feel all wierd; then when we went into Whole Foods, Mandi sat outside with our bags. Anyway, we have lots of lovely foods.

The dinner experience was lovely, even if I didn't particularly care for the vegetarian entree they made up for us. The women who took us out apparently usually take the Croquet Team out, and commented on how we drank much less than they do. They were very nice women. Dessert was lovely, and my desert coffee with various things (frangelico and baileys and kahlua, I think) was quite tasty.

Mostly because it was the only Buffy I had left that we hadn't already seen (I have some episodes that seem to last for like 10 minutes, and those are just ridiculous. I don't know why they're there) we just watched the episode from the 5th Season with the troll. It was really cute.

The worst of my shallow bowls missed the putting too much glass on them fiasco, and so when I found it last weekend, I glazed it and put a little bit of glass at the bottom. The glaze job is lovely, and so is most of the shape, but the rim is a bit wobbly.

I should go live somewhere where there is like no pollen when I'm off my parents' insurance. As it is unlikely that I will find myself in the sort of job where there is insurance. And Claritan over the counter costs a fortune, but so would any other allergy pill not over the counter.
