a railway bridge over the Ipswich river.Steel is awesome and awful stuff, engineeringwise. (and steel reinforced concrete even more so) We gained the ability to make massive spaces, but it took the subtlety out of the problem of bridging a river. _

So you know that Kopi Luwak, civit digested coffee?  Last night we had a synthetic version, iced, or at least, I think we did.  I can't find anything about it on the internet, but that's what she said it was.  If it isn't on the internet, can it really exist?   It was very good, I don't generally like coffee, but this was chocolately and rich and hardly bitter.   Most coffee tastes thin and sharp to me.   Also this amazing chocolate malt.  And delicious baby octopus, which is soft and meaty and not like squid at all.  Also probably the most adorable thing I've ever eaten.  Oh, and this fascinating fresh, cakey sourdough bread, that didn't really smell like bread at all. _

Do I want TV?  Tomorrow is my last day at this job, and they're cutting my internet, which means signing up for it myself.  Planning to get fiber optic, because it is better, and I like Verizon better than Comcast.  Torn about the TV thing.   On the one hand, sometimes there are things I would like to see.  On the other, I might watch it. _

NOAA is warning of areal flooding.  Apparently areal is the adjective form of area, but I'd never heard it before, and area flooding seems completely grammatical to me.   I am also rather vague on the difference between a flash flood and an areal flood. _
