departure of the map turtle
After it was released, it went straight back to it's rock impersonation, though this time in slightly deeper water.

I've had a fledgling thought about management philosophy, around the phrase "opportunities for incompetence". You need to constantly be aware of your opportunities for incompetence. It's difference from the challenges. Challenges are things you don't know how to do. Opportunities for incompetence are the routine things that people have a non-trivial chance of botching. When you're deciding how to do something, you need to consider how many of these opportunities you are creating.

All today's taken at Great Meadows NWR in Concord. The causeway is still underwater from last weekends rain. Hardly a duck to be seen. One Heron, and an alleged rail, which has the local binocular brigade out in force.
