Cartoonesque Flower (edited version)

I saw this on my way home from a critical coffee capturing expedition this morning and it seemed almost too round and swoopy and bright to be real. I have done my best to capture the brightness of the flower in this edit. The original is right next to it in my photostream on Flickr if you feel like comparing. _

I think it's an appropriate time to revisit this photo, since it still reminds me of The Sirens of Titan. 84 is a pretty big number of years to have lived. Good thoughts to Kurt Vonnegut's children and other loved ones who still survive. _

Wisteria tree (original)

The color is a bit truer in this (more blue in the purple), but it is unfortunately white and blurry overall. I stumbled across this tree on my morning walk and it was literally breathtaking. I stumbled a bit and felt my breath catch and my heart trip. The awe of it doesn't really come across in these photos, but I think they still convey that it is really neat. _

Wisteria tree (edited)

I tried adjusting the white balance on the cameraphone when I took this, but the original shot was still rather washed out. I fiddled with color and sharpness to show the general idea of where the cascading sprays of wisteria were on the tree, but the purple is more red than it was in real life as a result. _
