I was bold just to prove myself a liar
(Unfortunately the ambient light was very terrible for getting a clear shot, so capturing the jagged mouth was really and truly the best I could do)

Lest you think I was exaggerating when I claimed our street is in full Halloween Yard Combat Mode, I decided to document my walk this morning. The house with the guillotine has now added a victim, also a head on a pike and a coffin full of bones. In addition we have skeletons, spiders and pumpkins galore on several other houses. These pictures were all taken on one block.
Which is the best house? Consider that for some money is no object, while for others, it's a severe limitation. Judge on idea and execution (though I suppose if we're judging solely on execution, the guillotine house clearly wins) (sorry, couldn't resist). I'm very sad that the electrical tape pumpkin face didn't come out better. A bolder person would walk closer to get a bette picture. Unfortunately I am not very bold, and afraid of being scolded for tresspassing. Anyway vote for your favorite in comments!

After much agonizing over our halloween costumes, we've finally found a winning idea. We're going to be calacas! I'm going as La Catrina (more famous picture here), and Moss is going as El Borracho in a more... dead... state.
I have been working on my costume this evening, and I have to say it's pretty much awesome. Pictures to follow next weekend I suspect.
What are you going as?

I have been far too lazy today so far. I hereby resolve to do the dishes and then walk down to drop off the package I promised I'd bring to my co-worker. Then Lunch!

As Mira pointed out, today is national coming out day. I'm attracted to both men and women, and have been for as long as I can remember being conscious of attraction. I believe that people ought to be able to date and/or marry other people regardless of gender, race, or religion, and to be able to get equal pay for equal work as well. My own sexual identity doesn't usually come up a lot, but it seems worth mentioning publicly just as further evidence that such tendencies and preferences are natural and harmless. I do feel annoyed with girls who pretend to like girls because they think boys will find that hot, though. I hope this charming lady has managed to stick with her resolution to stop making out with them in bars.
