You know, being indoors all day, I ended up wearing only a t-shirt and sweater. The funny thing is, I caught myself in the mirror a few minutes ago, and it looks like I'm wearing a miniskirt under my sweater.
Makes me wonder why I don't have a miniskirt. But not too much.

Moss and I are looking at apartments on craigslist and actually finding some good possibilities. We may go look in person tomorrow. Iam keeping up with the NaNoPage and writing exercises so far, which makes me happy and productive feeling. Now all I have to do is find a job.

I always thought it was completely normal to secretly fear finding a dead body in every ravine or drainage ditch you pass. Moss says he's never known this fear, though. Anyone else care to comment?

Yesterday we had suspicious burritos for dinner. Well, I did at least. Moss had one with shredded chicken and said it was fine. I had one with grilled "chicken". There was a disturbing fishlike quality to the meat. I thought maybe it was actually frog or snake or radioactive sewer rat. It was seasoned nicely, though. The taqueria must be owned by hardcore meatatarians because there is no bean burrito option on the menu. You can have chicken, beef, pork, head, tongue and brain burritos, though. We thought mayhap we should bring Mirabai there.

Neil informs me that I have not kept up with my blogging duties of late. Please accept my humblest apologies. My sister is on a plane to France at the moment. She managed to meet Radiohead while checking in. She got their autographs and told them she would be seeing them in Paris. Apparently they were all cool about it. Which brings me to the conversation I had with my mother.
Madre: So now I know what Radiohead looks like.
Me: Yes, but do you know what they sound like?
Madre: Well, no... But I know the lead singer is short and the other guy she got the autograph from is tall and cute in a nerdy way.
My family doesn't cease to amaze and amuse me. They also sat one table away from Nicholas Brendan (Xander to all you Buffy fans) while they ate breakfast this morning. This is remarkable because last year they saw him repeatedly during a day of hiking and biking in Yosemite. Caprina Lynn says that if she sees him again she's going to ask what the deal is with him following her.
On a completely unrelated note, I have applied for 6 jobs today. I am an applying machine.

The day was good when I visited the massage school I'm thinking about going to. It was better when Moss and I got burritos at the place that has all the different kinds of really good salsa. The suggestion of going to a movie was better still. But nothing, nothing beats seeing the Violent Femmes in a tiny venue from about three feet away for two hours when you didn't ever expect to in the first place, but randomly stopped by to see if there were any tickets left. Oh yes, there were. Rock. Rock rock rock rock rock! They played almost everything on Add It Up, too. And we could see their fingers, and their faces, and there was so much jamming. You are now jealous of us. I have spoken.

This has been the right sort of weekend. Good friends, good food, lovely weather, a nice walk, and good fortunes in our cookies. Moss's father apologized for his comment on the blog, which was very sweet, though unnecessary. He's a good sort.
Also, something I have been meaning to post for a while: Mirabai's father is named Bob. This means, potentially, people could call him Bobby Knight. Just sayin'.

One of the things I did at my mother's house was find a lot of old pictures. Many of them are boring, but a few are real gems. For instance, the one taken when I was a fourteen-year-old badass at Disneyland. I am standing in front of the It's a Small World ride with a carefully cultivated expression of ennui on my face. I am wearing black shoes with purple laces, pink scrunched down socks, blue and white striped shorts, a white tank top with little flowers on it (you're wondering where the badass part comes in, right? Just keep reading), black sunglasses, a Minnie Mouse ears headband, and a black leather jacket any Harley rider would be proud to own. In my right hand I am holding up the Disneyland brochure. Each of my fingers has a silver ring on it, and one of them is a poison ring. I cannot truly explain to you how funny this picture is. Perhaps this weekend we'll get the digital pics off the camera and onto one of the galleries so you can see a picture of this picture with your own eyes and revel in its glory.

This summer I have spent most of my time with my mother, Moss, and the people at the dentist's office. Today the receptionist asked me if the dentist's office was my new home. I said that it was starting to feel that way, and she laughed and said, "Yeah, I think we got some mail for you yesterday." I thought she was joking, but she wasn't.
