My new steno software arrived today! The box contained a CD-ROM, a security dongle, $300 worth of training vouchers, and three ~300-page manuals. The first page of the first manual reads:
"MOVING THE MOUSE
When you are in Windows, a pointer will appear on your screen. Move the mouse, and the pointer will move on the screen accordingly."
This is gonna be fun.

I wish I could find some good all-Baroque mp3 podcasts, but I've been looking, and so far no luck.
Edit: Besides the Magnatune Baroque Podcast, which I should have mentioned before, since it's really pretty good.

Speaking of which, K. has been spending the summer taking wonderful photos all over the city. Yesterday she did some still lifes, and this is one of my favorites. It's the top of my bookshelf. The bust, hat, and ivy are hers; the instruments are mine.
I don't like the soccer fan, because he has a strange defect: he cannot understand why you are not a fan yourself, and he insists on talking to you as if you were. To convey my meaning I will give you an analogy. I play the recorder.
