I saw this in the health food store last night. I am perplexed.

Polished off my last 200. Finally earned that stenologometer setting. Three tests left. Three 225 Q&As left. Three tests left.

The Firefox headline for this story was "Greek Pupils Demand Marbles." Before I read the article, I assumed it meant that some Mediterranean Board of Aesthetics had decided that they were going to paste some of these into all those old sculptures' creepy white eye sockets.

I've now passed all my Lit and Jury Charge tests and have only four Q&As (one at 200, three at 225) between me and a certificate from NYCI. Hardly ready to start working, much less take the CCP (which I've decided to put off 'til November, since the one in May is the day before my dad's 80th birthday and I aim to be traveling to Missoula then), but it'll be a milestone of a pretty satisfying sort. More immediately, Q&As are only given on Wednesdays, so it means I'll have my Mondays free to intern with that CART provider I've been talking to. Which is exciting as all get-out. So hey.

"For Meryl" translated as "formerly". I don't know if that's something I should change in my writing or something I should be glad of happening offline rather than realtime. Will it ever come up again? Should I make provisions in my dictionary? Glargh.

You know, despite the frequently misapprehended title of my mom's previous book and a recent comment on her latest one, she doesn't actually advocate cannibalism as a nutritional principle. Really. Promise. Cross my heart. Really.

Steno misstroke: was going for "jalapenos". Came out "hell pianos". HAL/PAOEPB/TPHOE/S versus HEL/PAOEPB/TPHOE/S. I rather like the idea of using hell pianos in my black-eyed pea casserole. Would give it a certain wotsit.

Final bug-free (I hope) standalone executable and necessaries (thanks to py2exe) version of Bozzy can be found here. I hope to finish up the documentation any day now, and then I'm gonna start spreading it around the court reporting message boards a bit.
Edited to add: New improved BozzyCompare and current source up too. BozzyCompare can now take an rtf/cre dictionary file, compare it to a text file formatted one word per line and output a new Bozzy-compatible word list containing all words in the latter that aren't in the former. Woo!

Agh! My wrists smell like a herd of tomcats had a pissing match in an ashram.
I miss my mom. Shortly after she and my dad came to visit she went to Norway to be with her family for Christmas for the first time since 1960. Then she went to Sweden and France and who knows where else. She's still off gallivanting and I haven't spoken with her in weeks and I miss her. Pfui.
In other news, My iRiver H10 gave up the ghost some time in November, though I might be able to repair it in the future when I've got the spondoolik for a new hard drive. My computer had a disturbing blarfing episode two days ago, but two non-destructive Windows Restore sessions later I still have all my files and it seems to be behaving itself. I also bought a refurbished Thinkpad for $400 at J&R yesterday (that store is crack. utter, utter crack.) to go CARTing with as soon as I pass my last 180 Lit and my last 200 Jury Charge. I've gotten in touch with the NYU CART lady, and it seems to be all systems go. It's waiting on me, though, so I'd better pass those damn tests.
K. and I have been listening to lots of Susanna Clarke on audiobook, making carrot soup and lamb chops and all sorts of other delicacies, watching Baron Munchausen and Doctor Who, and applying scented ungulatesunguents to our decadent Western corpora. For Twelfth Night she gave me lime, strawberry, passion fruit, and pistachio white chocolate and a variety of bath fizzes and soaps, and I gave her Eastern Bloc Chocolate and an apatosaurus and these.
