Bloglet, the gentleman's mock turtle soup -- Moss made it sweeter than myrrh ash and dhoup
At work, waiting for a movie to download. Might as well blog. Haven't gotten a chance to take pictures of the new place (with furniture in, anyway-- took some not very revealing ones a couple of weeks ago, but it looks much better now, giant mess or no) but it's wonderful. All my stuff is moved out of my old place, though if I don't go back very soon to sweep the floor and clean the ceiling fan I'll be a horrible human being. K. is moving her stuff gradually, and we're making it ours, bit by bit. I've been slacking on steno (failed the 90 W.P.M. four times and skipped it yesterday to fete the girl after her Phi Beta Kappa initiation), but today I'm setting up my computer again among the towers of cardboard and unsorted life-dreck, and getting down to it. Won't have internet 'til Wednesday, though, so blogging is still on half throttle. I had a steak martini last night. Just thought that bore mentioning. I'm also starting up Sciral Consistency again today, after letting it lapse ever since Neil came to visit. Back to Eudaimonia or a scrabbling approximation thereof.

The Mario Opera. Yes, that's what I said. The Mario Opera.

Found another steno blog-- a male conservative high school student who blogs pictures of his truck and is about two years ahead of me. Well, damn. It's a welcome change, in my book.

Worst slang-based advertising since the ill-advised "I'd Hit It" campaign.

I love thunder. Love it, love it, love it, love it. It's thundering, and I'm happy.
Incidentally, I'm reading the Iliad for a twice-monthly book group I've been going to, and I noticed the bit where Hera and Athena bless an occasion with a clap of thunder. I didn't know they were allowed to do that.

But I can't sleep without her here unless I exhaust myself. The sheets are cold and there's no back to rest my palm on.

This looks to be a much better deal than this, and certainly more practical than my harebrained custom-txt-compare idea. Next time I have the lolly, I think I'll do it.

Damn, my girlfriend makes good pasta. Now I have to keep her. It's all part of their sinister conspiracy to snare the souls of innocent Italians. Oh well. {snarfslurpsmlrf}

Only the last of which might actually do whoever found this place some good, but hey! Welcome, hypothetical opera milliners, canid-testudinarian grudge match fans, obscure Polish novel piraters, and people looking for stenog blogs.

Neil has come and gone, but it was so delightful to have him. Since last I blogged, I finally escaped my dreary Theory class, and went into the 70 WPM one. I loved the teacher-- sort of shouty and schoolmarmish, with impeccable dapper manners and a method of strict efficiency. But it was a test day, and I wound up passing, so into the 80-90 class I went for the second half of the evening. The teacher of that one's perfectly fine, but I miss the other one already. Mr. Davis, I hardly knew ye.
Got the keys to the new apartment yesterday, and K. and I staked it out entire. It's beautiful and empty and smells like finished wood. Gonna move in gradually, but I already bought a shower curtain (with penguins on), so I've been feeling giddy.
Incidentally, The Missoulian said recently that I was an adult. A bit terrifying, that, but if you see it in The Missoulian, it's so, right?

If you had the choice of a beautiful thing, a rare thing, a precious thing, a useful thing, or a thing that had bits you could twiddle with, which would you rather?
This post inspired by a show I did recently featuring a guy who built himself an entire replica Graceland mansion to the tune of $14 million, which I don't want, and a sudden recollection of the chapter in Winnie the Pooh in which Eeyore gets two presents, which I do.
And also my gadget jacket, mua-ha!

Monday made two years since the day K. and I first met, shook hands, and many things more, one after the other. We went out to a Greek restaurant called Symposium, which was a tiny, loud, happy place with hand-drawn menus and lamb chops to slaver for. There were amateur paintings all over the walls and ceiling, and this was one of 'em.
