{Walks into bathroom, looks at feelthy scummy tub}
I should clean the bathroom. That would make my roommates happy.
{Turns on faucet. Nothing comes out.}
Damn, I love instant goldbricking. Just add, um... no water. Whee!

I've been insomniac as long as I can remember. Since before high school, at least. Just can't get to sleep. Audiobooks sometimes help. Tongue-lolling prostration almost always. But on your average night, (or day, for the last two years) it takes me a good hour or two -- or more -- to finally drop off. Dunno why. Just how it is. Like now. Hey.
So how come I've never, but never, since we started snoozing together last April, had any trouble falling asleep when K.'s in the bed? I conk out like anything -- often when I freakin' don't want to. Could it be the novelty, still? But I thought novelty was supposed to put you on guard, not lull you. Lord knows she ain't a boring conversationalist. My body just doesn't shoot me the evil stay-awake juices or something. I can't explain it.
Fpfbleh.

As promised, Louis Farrakhan does transsexuality -- calypso style!
(I misremembered, though -- it wasn't about Renee Richards but rather Christine Jorgensen. 'Pologies.)

Going off to K.'s grandma's place in Massachusets for the weekend. Yeee!
Also, as we discovered last Sunday,
The Luminescent Orchestrii: Lovely kids, great stage presence, all-around rockin' time.
Project Jenny, Project Jan: Godawful, helpful tips on taking the Chinatown bus aside. This was later confirmed after listening to them at a less-than-earsplitting volume. Yup. They just suck. Spazzily. Sorry, Uncle Reuben.
The Wiyos: INSANELY FREAKING AWESOME. Bought their album. Best damn harmonica playing on the continent.

I'm currently reading two books in which the Wandering Jew appears as a character. Can anyone recommend a third?

And now to work.
Also, Samuel Pepys likes dulcimer music, and this is adorable.

Got a new computer, a desktop with all the trimmings (200 gig hard drive, plotz!) plus a printer, for a very reasonable price after all the rebates kick in. I cracked the front of the case bringing it up to my apartment, but that turns out to be funny more than anything, because it was the one part of the machine I didn't care for, butt-ugly white plastic bastard that it was. So I took the whole face off; now I've got an incentive to pretty it up. I'm well pleased.

"Splendid work. 'A' for paper. 'A' for course. You're VERY special." -- My Professor.
My girlfriend says "special" means I flail my fists around my head when I get excited, but I prefer to take it as a compliment.
