I'm gonna go looking for a freeware program which can take a group of jpg files and arrange them in the most efficient manner (most paper-saving) to be printed. How long d'ya think it'll take? Hum. _

fine. I will actually say something.

Sang a beautiful beautiful Sicut Cervus today, and started teaching 'em Ave Verum Corpus. They sing *good*. Gave 'em all my mom's Halloween candy.

Went to the pediatrician's office, saw seven or so sweet wonderful babies and one and two year olds. They were all pretty healthy, and smiled a lot. It ruled.

Didn't have to take the bus down there, 'cause one of my practica kids gave me a ride. She said it was one of the perks of being a 'beloved music ass'. (`8

Didn't have to take the bus back, and a good thing too, 'cause I would've been late for my other practica. Instead, I went to the gas station and yelled "I'll give anyone here five dollars if they give me a ride to St. John's College!" A very nice lady let me ride in the back of her pickup truck, and wouldn't take the five dollars.

Went to water polo. Only four of us there, plus Dutch Irene. She was nice again, this week. It alternates. We rode on the waterslide and made a whirlpool and I watched while the two girly girls tried to make artistic watery bum-prints (and bosom-prints) on the cedar wall of the sauna. But the spinning suit drying machine was busted.

Storytellers, we had Huggy Bears again, and some fancy dollar store Wafer things, and Blue-Green-Brown cream cookies with secret messages on them. I read Mother Scorpion Country in honor of Halloween, death, love, and Jezebel. Sara read The Masque of the Red Death. A new guy read The Rats in the Walls. Kyle Work (aka the Minute Man) wandered in at the last minute and read The Music of Erich Zann. No one read the Candy Witch or Little Hermano meets La Llorona, or any English Ghost stories, though it looked like Ariadne wanted to. Balls.

Now there's a cat on my lap. The room is dark, and I'm wearing a green shirt. Sara is talking in her sleep. The freshmen in the halls (similar in many ways to the Rats in the Walls, though more accomodating) are giggling. I need to water my tentacle fern and start practising my violin again. I went as Julien Sorel to Halloween Saturday night, but didn't dress up tonight, because there was no time, you know. But I still have the mash note to Napoleon. Yours with a waterproof watch,

M.K.K. _

"With three hundred years of history behind it, St. John's College is the patriarch of education in Annapolis. The third-oldest higher learning institution in the country, St. John's offers a renowned "Great Books of Western Civilization" curriculum through its liberal arts program. Four-year degrees and graduate programs abound at St. John's, and the school is also known well for its basketball program." _

This would be really cheesy, except it's not. In Missoula, some company (a phone company?) owned some sort of huge transformer or something, and it sat up on the mountain, on the north side of town. It was a big big white box. A long time ago (I don't know how long, but a long time ago), someone painted a big lopsided beautiful green peace sign on it. The phone company or whatever it was sent up painters to paint it white again. The next morning, the green peace sign was back. The phone company or whatever it was tried a few more times, over several years, but every time they painted it white, the next morning there would be a big lopsided beautiful green peace sign staring down at the valley. I grew up with four directions in my head: The concrete "M" on Mount Sentinel was East. The south hills (where the Mansion used to be) were South. Stone Container was West. The Peace Sign was North. It was always there. I haven't been in Missoula for any time longer than a Christmas break since I started college. They've busted up a lot of things meanwhile... one of them is the Peace Sign. (this is from the site of one of my brother's friends.) _
